Through extensive design and clinical review Cleariontm dual-hinge custom gp lenses have evolved, offering advanced profiles for practitioners’ most difficult cases. The lenses will change how practitioners view the fitting process and will yield more comfortable, better tolerated lenses for their patients. With a continuum of three lens profiles and a wide array of available parameters and materials, the Cleariontm dual-hinge custom gp lenses were developed to offer a highly customizable system of GP lenses. This system utilizes a "dual-hinge" design concept and fitting philosophy to more closely approximate corneal, topographic profiles. The "dual-hinge" design employs its first hinge point (1) between the central base curve (BC1) and a second, para-central to mid-peripheral base curve (BC2). Practitioners can significantly alter this relationship to accommodate for extreme topographical variances. A second hinge point (2) is then employed between BC2 and a progressive curve, peripheral curve (PC) system to establish the desired, targeted axial edge lift. “Practitioners often utilize GP designs from multiple sources when fitting advanced cases of corneal irregularity. We are packaging together a continuum of three profiles, generated from a single lens platform with a consistent design and fitting philosophy, to promote ease of use and improved clinical performance," said Dr. Bruce Bridgewater O.D., of Encore Vision Centers.

The Advantages of using the Menicare GP CARE SYSTEM

All contact lenses, including the rigid gas permeable lenses which are made from the latest technologically produced polymer, become soiled during wear from contact with cosmetics, oils, lipids, protein, and normal eye secretions. These deposits affect the comfort and clarity of the lens and must be removed. Menicare GP CDS Solution removes surface soilants from the lenses and continues to clean during the disinfecting and storage cycle. Once cleaned, the lenses are prepared for insertion into the eye by applying drops of Menicare GP WRW Drop to the lens surface. This solution thoroughly wets the surface of the lens and provides cushioning when placed onto the eye during the wearing cycle to rewet and rehydrate the lens which will enhance the lens wearing cycle. Menicare GP contact lens solutions, when used as directed, offer cleaning, disinfecting, storage, wetting, rewetting, and in-the-eye lubrication for RGP and hard contact lenses. Menicare GP solutions are preserved with benzyl alcohol, the one preservative with no written history of irritation or sensitization, and will insure clean and comfortable lenses throughout the wearing cycle. No thimerosal, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride (BAK), or are sensitive to , are present in any of the Menicare GP solutions.

The product is manufactured in Germany and already successfully marketed in Germany and Switzerland since 2006. aQuatens has a unique appeal in that there is no rubbing with a tissue, no rubbing with fingers, no smearing, no touching of the coated lenses, and no damaging of the sensitive and expensive coatings on the lenses. The specially formulated solution and the dispenser tip of the bottle is soft like human skin, will apply the solution on the lens surfaces. This means that there is no rubbing and no touching with fingers or with a tissue when using the aQuatens system. There is no waiting time, just rinse the solution off the lenses with running tap water until only a few drops remain on the lens surface. Just touch the remaining drops with the special micro cloth that is supplied. It will soak up the water droplets. No rubbing or excessive pressure is necessary. The lenses will look super clean.
